What's new in TypeScript 5?

The TypeScript 5 release is right around the corner and it includes some great new features! Here's a rundown of what's new:

Support for ECMAScript 5.1

This means that TypeScript will now support all of the features from the latest version of JavaScript, including things like Object.observe and Symbol.

Better support for React

TypeScript now has better support for React, including JSX.

Improved error checking

TypeScript will now do a better job of checking for errors in your code, making it easier to spot potential problems.

There are a number of new refactorings available in TypeScript 5, including extract method and extract function.
